SINISTER
FRED DALTON THOMPSON (Sheriff) is a politician, actor, attorney, lobbyist,
columnist and radio
host. Representing Tennessee, Thompson served in the United States Senate from
1994 to 2003.
As an actor Thompson has appeared in a number of movies and television shows. In
the final
months of his U.S. Senate term in 2002, Thompson joined the cast of the
long-running NBC series "Law &
Order," playing Manhattan District Attorney Arthur Branch. He reprised his role
in guest appearances on
three "Law & Order" spinoffs. Most recently, Thompson was seen on "The Good
Wife" and "Life on
Mars."
Thompson recently appeared in the drama Alleged, about the famous Scopes "Monkey
Trial."
Other film credits include In the Line of Fire, Born Yesterday, Cape Fear, Die
Hard 2, Days of Thunder, The
Hunt for Red October and No Way Out.
In 2010 Thompson released his book Teaching the Pig to Dance: A Memoir of
Growing Up and
Second Chances.
