COMMON (Vincent) is a multiple Grammy Award-winning musician, author,
community activist and inspirational leader. At the same time he has emerged as one of
Hollywood's most sought-after leading men. His many film credits include SMOKIN' ACES, WANTED, BROWN SUGAR, TERMINATOR: SALVATION, NEW YEAR'S EVE, JUST WRIGHT, STREET KINGS and DATE NIGHT.
Currently the actor stars on the hit AMC series HELL ON WHEELS, which premiered
to the second-highest ratings the network has ever seen and was quickly renewed for a
second season. Common plays the role of Elam, a freed slave who goes west in post-Civil
War America, seeking work on the Transcontinental Railroad. He can also be seen in THE ODD LIFE OF TIMOTHY GREEN, starring alongside Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton and Ron
Livingston. In addition to his acting work, Common has been the face, voice and inspiration
behind some of the largest consumer-brand campaigns in the country.
Whether inspiring audiences through music, movies, books or his foundation,
Common continues to break new ground and is one of hip hop's most innovative, positive
voices. His highly anticipated ninth album THE DREAMER, THE BELIEVER, was released by
Warner Bros. Records in December 2011.
An accomplished writer of multiple literary works, Common penned a deeply
personal memoir, ONE DAY IT'LL ALL MAKE SENSE. He also draws upon the cultural relevance
of hip hop in the children's books he has written.
In 2007 he launched the Common Ground Foundation, which empowers youth in
urban communities and offers a younger generation a better understanding of self-respect
and love.
