DANNY BOYLE's (Directed by) Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games wowed critics and audiences across the world.

In 2009, Boyle won the Academy Award for Best Director for SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. The film won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture and over 100 other industry awards. Boyle's follow-up, 127 HOURS, starred James Franco and was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture and 9 BAFTA awards.

Boyle's first two features with screenwriter John Hodge, SHALLOW GRAVE and TRAINSPOTTING, won two Bafta awards and an Oscar nomination. TRAINSPOTTING remains one of the best loved -- and highest grossing - British independent films of all time. Additionally, Boyle has directed the feature films 28 DAYS LATER, MILLIONS, THE BEACH, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY, ALIEN LOVE TRIANGLE, and SUNSHINE. He has also directed highly acclaimed work in television and theatre, including 2011's Frankenstein at the Royal National Theatre.
