THAT AWKWARD MOMENT

JESSICA LUCAS (Vera) has quickly established herself as a highly sought-after young actress working in both film and television. A favorite of genre fans, Lucas starred in such films as Matt Reeves' sci-fi thriller Cloverfield, opposite Lizzy Caplan and Mike Vogel, and the well-reviewed Evil Dead remake, opposite Jane Levy and Shiloh Fernandez.

Lucas recently wrapped production on Paul W.S. Anderson's period action-adventure film Pompeii, starring opposite Kit Harrington, Emily Browning and Kiefer Sutherland. The film follows an enslaved Celtic gladiator (Harrington) who falls for a noblewoman on the night before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Lucas is also a series regular on the new CW drama "Cult," which co-stars Matthew Davis, Alona Tal and Robert Knepper.

Previous film credits include a leading role in the third installment of the Big Momma's House franchise, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, opposite Martin Lawrence and Brandon T. Jackson; a supporting part in the romantic comedy She's the Man, alongside Channing Tatum and Amanda Bynes; and a lead role in Renny Harlin's The Covenant, co-starring Taylor Kitsch and Chace Crawford.

On the small screen, Lucas' credits include NBC's midseason comedy "Friends with Benefits," the CW's revival of "Melrose Place" and the popular Canadian teen drama "Edgemont." She also booked buzzed-about recurring roles on the CW's "90210" and CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Born and raised in Vancouver, Lucas has been acting since she was 7 years old. She began her professional training with Theater Arts for Children and quickly earned stage experience in local productions of "Snow White," "Grease," "Cinderella," "Mousetrap" and the "Music Medley" series. Lucas quickly transitioned to film and television, with her first notable role being on the short-lived but critically acclaimed ABC series "Life As We Know It."
