OUT OF THE FURNACE

An accomplished and striking performer, CASEY AFFLECK (Rodney Baze Jr.) has established himself as a powerful leading man with singular performances in multiple projects this fall.

Affleck recently wrapped production on Christopher Nolan's Interstellar opposite Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon. The film follows a group of explorers who test the limitations on human space travel through a newly discovered wormhole. Affleck can currently be seen starred in the romantic outlaw drama, Ain't Them Bodies Saints for IFC Films, which debuted at Sundance and premiered in Cannes earlier this year.

Affleck was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Award by the National Board of Review for his performance in the character drama The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Written and directed by Andrew Dominik ("Chopper"), the Warner Bros. film stars Casey as 'Ford' opposite Brad Pitt's 'Jesse James.' The story follows Ford's sycophantic obsession with James that quickly turns into growing resentment after he joins the legendary outlaw's gang, leading to his subsequent plan to murder James and claim his rightful glory. Earning much critical attention for the role, Claudia Puig of USA Today stated "Casey Affleck is the real revelation. He perfectly inhabits the role of the needy and ambitious Ford."

Additionally, Casey has garnered significant praise for his starring turn in the Miramax film Gone, Baby, Gone. Based on Dennis Lehane's novel of the same title, and adapted for the screen and featuring the directorial debut by Ben Affleck, the film is the story of two Boston detectives in search of a four year-old girl who has been kidnapped. The film also stars Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman and Michelle Monaghan and opened in October 2007. According to Peter Travers from Rolling Stone, "Casey grabs this breakthrough role and runs with it."

An accomplished screenwriter, Casey recently penned the original screenplay for Aardvark Art's Ark, an animated family film that he will also Executive Produce for Warner Bros. The film tells the story of a family of animals who set sail on Noah's Ark and find wild adventures when the waters get dangerous.

On stage, Casey appeared in Kenneth Lonergan's West End debut of his award winning play This is Our Youth. Casey played the role of 'Warren' alongside Matt Damon and Summer Phoenix.

Previously, Casey co-wrote with and starred alongside Matt Damon in Gus Van Sant's independent road movie Gerry. He has also appeared in Van Sant's Good Will Hunting and To Die For, Hamlet with Ethan Hawke and Julia Stiles, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Thirteen and Tony Goldwyn's The Last Kiss with Zach Braff, Blythe Danner, Tom Wilkinson and Jacinda Barrett.

Additional films include Lonesome Jim, Soul Survivors, American Pie 2, Attention Shoppers, Committed, Drowning Mona, Floating, American Pie, 200 Cigarettes, Desert Blue and Race the Sun.

On television, he was seen in the ABC mini-series "The Kennedys of Massachusetts" and the PBS telefilm, "Lemon Sky" based on Lanford Wilson's play and starring Kevin Bacon.
