GRETCHEN MOL (Karen) most recently starred in LAGGIES
opposite Sam Rockwell, Keira Knightly and Chloe Grace Moritz as well as opposite
Steve Buscemi as a regular on the Martin Scorsese-produced HBO series "Boardwalk
Empire," for which she and her cast mates received the Screen Actors Guild award
for Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Drama Series. In 2007 she and the
cast of the film 3:10 TO YUMA received the SAG award for Outstanding Performance
by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Mol made her mark on audiences and critics with
her acclaimed portrayal of 1950s pinup icon Bettie Page in the film THE
NOTORIOUS BETTIE PAGE, which opened to rave reviews at the 2005 Toronto Film
Mol was born in Connecticut and was a graduate of the William Esper Studio
and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She began acting professionally
in numerous commercials and stage productions, and remains active on the stage.
She has starred on Broadway as Roxie Hart in Chicago, and appeared in Neil La
Bute's The Shape of Things in London and off-Broadway, and also in the film
version, which premiered at the Sundance Festival. She made her film debut in
Spike Lee's GIRL 6 as Girl Twelve. Among her numerous other films ARE THE
ROUNDERS, FOREVER MINE, AN AMERICAN AFFAIR, PUCCINI FOR BEGINNERS, THE
THIRTEENTH FLOOR, DONNIE BRASCOE, Abel Ferrara's THE FUNERAL, and Woody Allen's
CELEBRITY and SWEET AND LOWDOWN. Her telefilm credits include Lifetime's
Emmy-nominated The Memory-Keeper's Daughter, based on the bestseller of the same
name, as well as Picnic, The Magnificent Ambersons, Calm at Sunset, Calm at
Dawn, The Valley of Light, and Dead Man's Walk. In addition to "Boardwalk
Empire," she was a regular on the David E. Kelly ABC series "Life on Mars" and
appeared in the debut episode of "Spin City."
