BEN STILLER (Brad Sloan) is one of the most acclaimed and recognized figures in
entertainment. As an actor, director, writer and producer, Stiller's global box
office stands at nearly $3 billion, making him one of the highest-grossing stars
of all time. Beyond his personal success, Stiller is a vanguard in the industry,
consistently breaking ground by creating opportunities for emerging writers and
filmmakers while embracing new platforms with his production company, Red Hour.
His legendary sketch television series, "The Ben Stiller Show," earned him an
Emmy Award and launched the careers of several seminal figures in comedy.
In 2017 Stiller will star in Noah Baumbach's The Meyerowitz Stories: New and
Selected, opposite Dustin Hoffman, Adam Sandler and Emma Thompson. Previously,
Stiller collaborated with Baumbach on While We're Young, opposite Naomi Watts,
as well as Greenberg, for which he received an Independent Spirit Award
nomination for Best Lead Actor.
Under the Red Hour banner, partners Stiller and Nicky Weinstock have set up a
wide range of features and television shows at studios and networks, many
financed through their partnership with Bold Films. Recent credits include the
feature Why Him, starring Brian Cranston and James Franco, and TV series such as
IFC's "The Birthday Boys" and Comedy Central's "The Meltdown with Jonah and
Kumail," "Big Time in Hollywood, FL" and "Another Period."
Red Hour is currently in production or preproduction on several projects
including the Netflix movie Alex Strangelove, written and directed by Craig
Johnson; the Showtime event miniseries "Escape at Clinton Correctional," to be
directed by Stiller; and Eggplant Emoji, a second movie for Netflix.
Additionally, Red Hour has a half-dozen new movies in development with Bold as
well as new shows set up at Amazon, Hulu, IFC, TBS, Fullscreen, Vimeo and
Stiller starred in, co-wrote, produced and directed Tropic Thunder, starring
Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black and Tom Cruise. The acclaimed comedy and its cast
garnered several nominations including Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and
SAG bids. It also won the Broadcast Film Critics and Hollywood Film Festival
awards for Best Comedy.
Stiller's other directing credits include Zoolander and Zoolander 2, The Secret
Life of Walter Mitty, The Cable Guy and Reality Bites.
Over the past decade, Stiller has toplined several highly successful movie
franchises, including the Night at the Museum and Meet the Parents series, as
well as DreamWorks Animation's blockbuster Madagascar films. His diverse acting
credits include Tower Heist, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, The Royal
Tenenbaums, Permanent Midnight, Your Friends & Neighbors, There's Something
About Mary, Flirting with Disaster and Empire of the Sun, among others.
In 2011 Stiller returned to the stage on Broadway in the revival of John Guare's
award-winning play "The House of Blue Leaves," alongside Edie Falco and Jennifer
Jason Leigh. He made his Broadway debut in the 1986 production of the same name.
