DOUGLAS BOOTH (Romeo) trained at the National Youth Theatre and Junior Guildhall (Guildhall School of Music and Drama) before making his big screen debut in Julian Fellowes's time-travel fantasy, "From Time to Time" where he held his own opposite such heavyweights as Dame Maggie Smith and Dominic West. Following this Douglas starred in "The Pillars of the Earth" produced by Ridley Scott. Douglas won universal critical acclaim for his portrayal of Boy George in the BBC's biopic, "Worried About the Boy", and has since gone on to star opposite Matt Smith and Imogen Poots in "Christopher and his Kind". He also played the lead role of Pip in the BBC's adaptation of "Great Expectations" which aired over Christmas 2011 and also stared Gillian Anderson, Ray Winstone and David Suchet. Last summer saw Douglas as the male lead in the film LOL, starring opposite Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus.
Douglas will next be seen as Romeo to Hailee Steinfeld's Juliet in Carlo Carlei's feature film adaptation of "Romeo & Juliet" written by Julian Fellowes. Due for release next year Douglas will star in "Noah," the film adaptation of the epic Biblical tale of Noah and the ark, directed by Darren Aronofsky. Douglas plays Shem alongside a stellar cast including Emma Watson, Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly and Logan Lerman. Douglas has recently finished filming a leading role in action/sci-fi movie, "Jupiter Ascending" produced and directed by The Wachowskis. He stars alongside Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean and Eddie Redmayne. The film will be released in 2014. Douglas has just completed shooting "Posh", directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day). Based on the 2010 play by Laura Wade, the film follows two first year students at Oxford University who join The Riot Club, a fictional version of The Bullingdon Club, an exclusive society at Oxford University to which such prominent British figures as Prime Minister David Cameron, London Mayor Boris Johnson and Chancellor George Osborne belonged. The ensemble cast includes, Sam Clafin, Max Irons and Freddie Fox. "Posh" is set for release in 2014.
