PHANTOMS

PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
The F-word is spoken 8 times. The S-word is spoken 3 times. God's name is spoken in vain 1 time. There are 19 other profanities spoken.

SEX & NUDITY:
     None.

VIOLENCE:
There are numerous instances of an alien creature killing human beings. Some of these are bloodless, some are quite gory. The body total numbers over twenty. There are also graphic displays of severed hands and heads, and one disturbing shot of blood oozing out of a wound to a corpse's arm. Additionally, there's quite a lot of gunfire.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
None. Cigarettes are shown, but are never smoked.

ACTION:
There are several chase sequences in which alien creatures chase the protagonists. There's also a big, climactic battle at the end which could be construed as "action-oriented."

COMEDY:
     None.

TONE OF MOVIE:
Horror/Psychological Thriller with a touch of Science Fiction.

SPECIAL EFFECTS:
Special effects are mainly used to create realistic-looking corpses and severed heads. They are also used to create the monster in various incarnations. The realism of these effects is dubious; the monster that shows up late in the film isn't all that impressive.

SCARYNESS:
There are a number of typical horror movie scares in PHANTOMS -- things leaping out of the shadows, bodies being found in unexpected places, etc. Although the director follows all of the expected formulas, it's not very scary, though.

GORE:
Lots of gore and dead bodies. Severed hands. Decapitated bodies. Not for the squeamish.
