Two characters engage in cross-dressing, although it's done as a means of disguising themselves.
PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
The S-word is spoken 2 times. There are 12 other profanities spoken.
SEX & NUDITY:
Although the film is filled with sexual innuendo and several scenes feature naked individuals (with all the "naughty bits" covered), there is only one mild instance of nudity. There are two quick glimpses (about a second each) of the cleavage at the top of a woman's buttocks. There is no obvious or graphic sexual activity.
The film is loaded with violence. In one scene, a large number of characters are massacred. This is shown from a distance, so no detail can be seen. A character is decapitated (the act occurs offscreen, but the severed head is later shown). There are also numerous shootouts and fist fights.
DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
On several occasions, characters are shown drinking in a saloon.
There is a runaway wagon, a train chase, fight on top of a speeding train, a large number of fight sequences, and a big battle near the end involving a very large special effect.
Wild Wild West tries to be funny with sexual innuendo, sight gags, and witticisms. Unfortunately, many of them are not funny.
TONE OF MOVIE:
Comedy/Action/Adventure/Western with a generally light tone. Occasionally dramatic moments interfere with the overall tone.
The film features three significant special effects: an armor-plated coach, an 80 foot mechanical tarantula, and a flying machine. All are realistically presented and incorporated seamlessly into the film.
There is a decapitated head, but it's not especially disgusting or gross.
