PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
2 miscellaneous profanities are spoken.
SEX & NUDITY:
A woman's breasts are briefly shown from the side after she has disrobed. A man's buttocks are shown from a distance while he is engaged in sexual intercourse with a woman. Aside from this scene, there is another, closer sex scene where no nudity is shown.
Supernova has a fairly high body count, and there are several violent fight scenes, but, perhaps surprisingly, there isn't much gore, and little of the violence is graphic. People are killed relatively cleanly. One exception: a scene where a character looses a limb.
DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
Drug abuse is mentioned in passing. Several characters are addicted to a drug-like substance.
There are several chase scenes on the spaceship, as well as an outer space action scene with the ship avoiding crashing into a planet. In general, however, the so-called action is more repetitious than tense or exciting.
Nothing intentional. Some of the over-the-top acting and bad dialogue can be somewhat amusing, however.
TONE OF MOVIE:
The special effects are surprisingly good for such a bad movie. There are a lot of them -- from spaceships and planets to strange glowing objects. Everything is rendered with great care and realism. It's just about the only impressive thing about Supernova.
