PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
The F-word is spoken 9 times. The S-word is spoken 5 times. God's name is spoken in vain 4 times. There are 36 other profanities spoken.
SEX & NUDITY:
The film includes two battle scenes, both of which include graphic violence. Men, women, and children are shown being gunned down. One man is shot in the head. Other individuals have pieces of their bodies blown off. The violence is often graphic, but it is not sustatined. The camera does not linger on the carnage. There is also a fight scene in which two people get bruised and a lot of furniture is broken.
DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
Characters occasionally drink to excess.
There is no "popcorn" action, but the two battle sequences (see "violence") could be considered action sequences, since there is a great deal of running around, dodging, and shooting involved.
TONE OF MOVIE:
War movie/drama/courtroom thriller.
Most of the special effects involve people getting blown up or killed in battle. There is also a little girl with only one leg (this may or may not be a visual effect). In all cases, the effects are realistic and believable.
The two battle scenes in this film are exceptionally gory, with a great deal of blood being shown. The gore, however, is not of a cartoonish kind, bearing a greater resemblance to that of Saving Private Ryan than to that of Scream.
