PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
The F-word is spoken 2 times. The S-word is spoken 4 times. God's name is spoken in vain 2 times. There are 10 other profanities spoken.

SEX & NUDITY:
There are two scenes in which sexual activity is implied but not shown. There are also a couple of conversations in which sex is alluded to but not in graphic terms. There is no nudity.

VIOLENCE:
The film contains no person-on-person violence, but the storm causes several deaths by drowning. There is also an instance in which a character has a hook driven through his hand (this is shown graphically) and another instance when someone is attacked by a shark.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
A number of scenes take place in a bar where, as one might expect, there is a lot of drinking, often to excess.

ACTION:
The film features several water rescues which are action-oriented. There is also suspense associated with attempts to keep a boat afloat during the height of the storm.

COMEDY:
There are occasional humorous moments, but these are mainly used as comic relief to break the tension.

TONE OF MOVIE:
     Adventure/Disaster At Sea

SPECIAL EFFECTS:
Extensive use is made of special effects to generate the storm. New processes were used to make digitally created water look like actual water.

GORE:
During one scene, a character is impaled through the hand with a fish hook. Although not a bloody scene, some may find the image disturbing.
