A boy battles a large snake creature, during which it bites his arm and he stabs it in the mouth (some minimal bloodshed); there is also extended looks at a dead cat hanging (no blood).      There are a number of silly gags throughout, ranging from wisecracks to broad physical gags, such as a creature that comically hits itself in the head and an owl that frequently crashes into objects. There is one gross gag involving a boy spitting up slugs.

SCARYNESS:
A long scene involving giant spiders and a big fight with a giant snake-like creature may be too upsetting for younger children, as well as the image of a hanging dead cat.
