SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW

PARENTS NOTE:

PROFANITY: (View Profanity)
There are 4 very mild profanities spoken.

SEX & NUDITY:
A man makes a mild comment to a woman about cold nipples. It's said in another language so it's sub-titled at bottom of the screen.

VIOLENCE:
There's a fair amount of violence, but it's all very mild stuff. The most graphic scene is a guy melting to a skeleton.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL:
     None

ACTION:
There's plenty of great action that's both unique and fun, but it's not all action. There's quite a bit of story between action scenes, but it's all so unique and visual that it easily keeps you entertained.

COMEDY:
As 1930's serial type movies were, "Sky Captain" is played very seriously. I counted eight good chuckles and nine smiles. This was enough humor to keep it a little on the light side.

SPECIAL EFFECTS:
Keep in mind that this entire movie was shot against a blue screen so all the backgrounds were computer generated. This fact alone makes it worth seeing. The backgrounds, for the most part, seem totally real. However, sometimes it's easy to see that it's all computer generated and rather than taking away from the movie, it seems to add to the 30's feel.
