CAUTION: This is an intensely suspenseful movie and NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! The main characters are in nearly constant peril. One of them is a young girl who is a great actress and acts VERY scared. I saw several children being taken out of the theater during some of the more intense scenes.

When the aliens appear they begin vaporizing people. These people are shown exploding and all that's left is bits of clothing. There is a constant threat of violence from the aliens and it get quite intense and suspenseful. It's graphic at times and probably not something you would want to take young children to see. It's way too intense.

ACTION:
There are only a few great action scenes and they are incredible. This is NOT an action filled movie. It's also NEVER slow. It is an intensely suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat nearly the entire time. It's exhausting!

COMEDY:
It has some good chuckles and some smiles but it's certainly not a funny movie and it's not supossed to be. I feel it has a perfect amount of just the right type of humor for this intense story. I counted 12 chuckles and 12 smiles.

SPECIAL EFFECTS:
INCREDIBLE effects, unlike anything you've ever seen! However, there are not a lot of these effects. It's mainly an intense human drama.

SCARYNESS:
This movie is intensely suspenseful and several times it gets pretty scary.
