Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama Suspense Thriller - Fans of The Sixth Sense wanting and expecting another eerie supernatural thriller will be disappointed, for the latest from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan is a different type of film entirely. Still, fans of the stars should enjoy, and adults willing to buy into this unconventional drama should be satisfied. Children will be bored by the slow pacing.

Critic's Review Heading
Good
Following the phenomenal--and completely out-of-nowhere--success of The Sixth Sense, it would have been easy for writer-director M. Night Shyamalan to follow that act with another eerie tale of the supernatural. All early indicators, in particular Disney's publicity campaign, paint Unbreakable as exactly that: a creepy thriller "from the director of The Sixth Sense." Unbreakable is indeed "creepy," but not in the way moviegoers are expecting (and, perhaps, desiring); the film gradually evolves from one thing into another animal entirely, its true nature slowly but surely "creeping" to the fore. What Unbreakable becomes is certain to divide the opinions of audiences and critics alike, but that's exactly what makes it a much more fascinating film than its predecessor.

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

A little less than half enjoyed "Unbreakable" and gave it respectable marks. Very few gave it really high marks. Only around 70% would recommend this movie to their friends, which is pretty low. Overall the opinions came in very mixed. A little over half gave it, what we would consider, LOW marks. Some were VERY LOW marks, which is pretty rare.

Publisher Comments: (before opinions collected)
This is a tough one. I personally found it very boring, but I have a feeling some people may enjoy this type of story. It was well over an hour into the movie before anything much happened, so don't go expecting an action thriller. I believe the explanation of why he wasn't hurt in the train wreck will cause a lot of eyes to roll. It's just too silly for many to take serious. This is one movie that I would highly recommend waiting to see how the moviegoer opinions come in before deciding to see it. I'm very curious myself to see how they will come in.
