Cruella De Vil is released from prison on good behavior swearing that she will have nothing to do with fur ever again in her life. She, however, cannot keep this promise and soon is plotting another "FUROCIOUS" scheme to get her ultimate Dalmatian coat. The fun and adventure shift into high gear as Cruella and the dogs romp through Paris.

Action Comedy - 102 Dalmatians is a sequel to the 1996 live-action 101 Dalmatians. Fans of the first film are most likely to enjoy this one, as are young children who will find the animals particularly cute. Older viewers may find the film too slow, though there is no material that would be considered offensive or unnecessarily violent.

Critic's Review Heading
Below Average
102 Dalmatians would have had to work hard to be as actively irritating as its John Hughes-penned precursor. Instead of being actively irritating, this one registers as merely tedious. It's designed primarily as a great big love-fest between the audience members and the on-screen animals, but there's virtually nothing else to it. Like far too many sequels, this one just lies there limply, practically daring you not to grant it good will based on another movie.

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

According to most of the opinions collected, "102 Dalmatians" is a HIT! Although not everyone loved the movie, most did, so I recommend it to nearly everyone. The exception would be those of you who aren't into silly, cute family films, that are mainly targeted at kids.

I felt this was an entertaining movie, most of the time. It's a bit slow for the little ones in a few spots. It's just not a story most smaller children are going to be able to understand. Luckily there's enough going on with the dogs to keep their attention through most of the movie, even if they don't quite know what's going on. I believe parents will feel it's a good family film and will find it enjoyable, but not great.

D ETAILED S TORYLINE

Three years after she dognapped her way around London, Cruella seems a changed woman. No longer fixated by fur or dazzled by Dalmatians, she has become the new savior of the animal kingdom and more specifically, a dog's best friend.

Everyone marvels at Cruella's incredible transformation, all except her dog-loving probation officer, Chloe Simon (ALICE EVANS), who doesn't believe it for a minute. Her skepticism is further fueled when amidst a blaze of media attention, Cruella steps in and buys a failing dog shelter.

The dog shelter's good natured and trusting manager, Kevin Shepherd (IOAN GRUFFUDD), is delighted with the home's new owner and also rather taken with Cruella's probation officer. Chloe is taken with him too, until the police arrive and arrest Kevin for the theft of several Dalmatian puppies.

Faced with this apparently irrefutable evidence, Chloe reluctantly accepts that Cruella really is reformed and that her trust has been sadly misplaced. However, the sudden disappearance of Chloe's own Dalmatian puppies, namely Pongo and Perdy's grandchildren, Little Dipper, Domino and Oddball, suggests that all is not as it seems.

Cruella's furtiveness implies a more sinister explanation, as does her newly formed friendship with French fashion furrier Jean Pierre Le Pelt. But, are they guilty of the most hideous crime, or is Cruella being framed for a crime she did not commit?

While Kevin, aided by his trusty canine friends and the world's only flying ‘dog', attempts to prove his innocence and to help Chloe save her puppies, it looks as if time is once again running out for the canine community.

Someone is stealing puppies…..But who?
