Critic's Review Heading
Terrible
3000 Miles To Graceland is not dramatically solid. It does not have interesting or well-developed characters. It is not surprising, romantic, funny, or exciting. It is, in fact, deadly dull and seemingly unending. The work of the director, Demian Lichtenstein, betrays his music video roots. He uses all sorts of camera tricks in a vain attempt to obscure the fact that the screenplay (which he co-wrote) is garbage. There are lots of time-exposure shots, quick edits, and even a battle between two computer-generated scorpions. 3000 Miles To Graceland contains a great deal of profanity and violence, none of which does anything to enhance the moribund tone. The film's two "showpiece" scenes are big shoot-outs, neither of which generates even a trickle of suspense or tension. Those who stay in the theater for the entire movie deserve some kind of medal.

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

BE ADVISED: This movie may not be what you expect. It is EXTREMELY VIOLENT! Kevin Costner plays a very mean and cruel cold blooded killer. The Elvis aspect of this film is nothing more than them dressing like Elvis to better rob a casino.

"Too much violence, profanity and sex, too long and slow" were the main complaints, besides just that it's a bad movie. Males enjoyed it slightly more than females. After seeing the movie and reading the detailed moviegoer opinions, I believe the problem is that people are going expecting something totally different. If you go knowing this is an extremely violent film, then you obviously enjoy that type of movie and will probably find this one enjoyable. I did. I would say your chances of enjoying this movie are pretty good, but ONLY IF you go knowing exactly what you're in for. So, read all the information we offer, especially the detailed content, before deciding if this is your type of movie.

D ETAILED S TORYLINE

It's International Elvis Week in Las Vegas, where the strip is flooded by a sea of King wannabes decked out in jumpsuits and sideburns. But five of the impersonators swaggering into the Riviera Hotel are toting heavy weaponry in their guitar cases.

It's the heist of a lifetime, orchestrated by ex-con Michael (Kurt Russell) and his cunning former cellmate, Murphy (Kevin Costner.) The crooked Elvises steal away with $3.2 million, leaving the hotel in ruins and a high body count in their wake as they make a dramatic rooftop escape via helicopter.

But when Murphy betrays his men, attempting to murder each one and keep the full stash for himself, Michael escapes with the loot and sets out to launder the marked currency. Along the way, he hooks up with Cybil (Courteney Cox), a beautiful grifter with small-town baggage and big-town dreams. Determined to retire from his life of crime but unable to shake his opportunistic one-night stand, Michael careens through state lines with Cybil by his side, Murphy on his tail and law enforcement in hot pursuit.

Five years of shared cell time provide Murphy and Michael with enough personal information to predict the other man's moves. Now their knowledge is put to the test in a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse that escalates to an explosive finale in the remote Pacific Northwest.
