In the world of underground motorcycle clubs, the undefeated racer known as Smoke (Laurence Fishburne) is the undisputed "King of Cali." But Smoke’s dominance of the set is about to be threatened by a young motorcycle racing prodigy called Kid (Derek Luke), who is determined to win Smoke’s helmet and earn the coveted title.
Action - A movie type similar to "The Fast and the Furious," but with less
drama and suspense. Actually, the story is pretty minimal. The movie
instead relies more on being "cool." It's clearly targeted at the
teen and twentysomething crowd.
PROFANITY: 1 F-word, 1 GD, 32 A-words, 18 S-words. Just a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Some sexy clothes and cleavage. VIOLENCE: Just some mild fist fights. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some drinking straight from the bottle. Nothing to excess. ACTION: There are only five major race scenes. COMEDY: There's a fair amount of humor.

Review Good "The director, Reggie Rock Bythewood, knows how to shoot the
works, but for all of the routine gear shifts in ''Biker Boyz,'' he gets the
drama working, too, so that there's something at stake in each of the races.''
Review Average "I think what happened here is that the filmmakers were
fascinated by the original article, did some research that hooked them on this
world, and then trusted the world would be enough to power the movie. It isn't.
We need a stronger conflict,...''
Review Below Average "Those who like the sound of cycles revving and are
content with ho-hum racing action will be satisfied, but if a credible plot and
compelling characters are on your wish list, this movie sadly disappoints.''

Review Above Average "Loosely based on a New Times article by
Michael Gougis, this film offers a look at Southern California motorcycle clubs
that's both dizzying and ultimately disappointing. Director Reggie Rock
Bythewood's intention appears to have been to transform what could have been THE
FAST AND THE FURIOUS on motorcycles into a modern-day Western,...''

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
It's easy to see that most people enjoyed "Biker Boyz" very much. Both males and females of all ages enjoyed this movie. There are, however, quite a few who didn't care much for it, rating it just "Good" to as low as "Terrible."
I suspect many of the low opinions are from bikers, because when I saw this movie there were many bikers in the audience. Almost all of them took one of our questionnaires, but very few filled it out. The few that did, indicated that they didn't think the movie was very realistic. So, I suspect the others didn't like the movie either, but didn't want to trash a biker movie.
