Attorney Matt Murdock is blind, but his other four senses function with superhuman sharpness. By day, Murdock represents the downtrodden. At night, he is Daredevil, a masked vigilante stalking the dark streets of the city, a relentless avenger of justice.
Action Sci-Fi - An action superhero story that's probably more for adults than
little kids due to the rather strong content. The story is quite
violent and kind of sad in a way. There are very few, if any, feel-
good, fun moments like there were in Spider-man. The story
likely too corny to be of interest to most adults.
PROFANITY: 1 GD, 3 A-words, 3 S-words. Just a few others. SEX/NUDITY: One sex scene that's a little graphic for a movie that attracts kids. VIOLENCE: Very Violent! Especially for a movie kids will want to see. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Quite a bit of bar drinking. ACTION: Quite a few fight scenes. Very little other action. COMEDY: A dozen or so smiles and chuckles.

Review Below Average "Daredevil is the sort of half-assed, visually
lackadaisical potboiler that makes you rue the day that comic-book franchises
ever took over Hollywood. ... Superhero movies are, of course, fantasies of
power, but when you see one that's as lame and mechanical as this, it so
dehumanizes the actors that it tends to come off as an allegory of emasculation.''

Review Above Average "Fans of the comic book will probably have some nits
to pick, but, overall, Daredevil does about one would expect from a movie
of that name – present about 90 minutes of disposable, action-oriented
entertainment. It's not as good as either of its recent Marvel cinematic
siblings, in large part because the proceedings lose far too much momentum in
the last act and the desire to set up a sequel results in things ending with a
Review Good "The movie is, in short, your money's worth, better than we
expect, more fun than we deserve. I am getting a little worn out describing the
origin stories and powers of superheroes, and their relationships to
archvillains, gnashing henchmen and brave, muscular female pals.''
Review Below Average "...there'll be plenty of ragging to go around once
audiences get a dose of the dullest live-action comic strip on record, one that
lacks even an interesting villain.''

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Looks like quite a few moviegoers agreed with me that Daredevil wasn't all that great, but there weren't as many low opinions as I thought there might be.
Teens thought it was great, both males and females. The young adult opinions were lower, but most still enjoyed it very much. As for the adults, a little better than half really enjoyed Daredevil and rated it "Very Good" and higher. The remaining half just rated it "Good" and "Fair," which is pretty low, but certainly not terrible.
My recommendation: If you go in knowing it's got some very unrealistic scenes and is a bit corny and you can overlook those shortcomings and just focus on the good parts, then you should easily enjoy Daredevil.
Cinema Review Prediction: (before moviegoer opinions are collected)
Disappointing. Not terrible, but certainly no where near the quality of Spider-man. It also seems too violent and sad for the small kids that will be interested in seeing it. I think the writers just think that being a comic book movie with some special effects is enough. They didn't take the time to make the story "cool" and reasonably realistic. As an example, one minute Daredevil can barely hold up his head due to an injury and just a few minutes later he's jumping around like crazy fighting the bad guy like he's never been hurt. There are other unrealistic scenes that actually caused unintended laughs. There are a few good scenes and as I said, it's not terrible, but it is terrible they wasted such a great potential series. I predict kids will easily overlook these shortcomings and give very high opinions, they almost always do. Adults will likely be a different story. There will probably be many low opinions and very few high opinions with most opinions being in the "Fair" to "Good" range.
He dwells in a world of eternal night – but the blackness is filled with
sounds and scents, tastes and textures that most cannot perceive. Although
attorney Matt Murdock (Ben Affleck) is blind, his other four senses function
with superhuman sharpness. By day, Murdock represents the downtrodden. At night
he is Daredevil, a masked vigilante stalking the dark streets of the city, a
relentless avenger of justice.
For Daredevil, justice is blind…
…and for the guilty (and often himself), there's hell to pay.
