When it comes to dating, Christina Walters has a golden rule: avoid searching for Mr. Right and focus on Mr. Right Now. That is until one night at a club when she unexpectedly meets Peter, only to see him suddenly disappear the next day. She and her best friend Courtney decide to break the rules and go on a road trip to find him.
Romantic Comedy - This is a silly, quirky little sexual comedy about the difficulties
of love and relationships. It's squarely targeted at the
twentysomething female. Males of this age may be interested in it
because of the female leads. Due to its explicit sexual references
it is NOT a movie fit for teens.
PROFANITY: 13 F-words, 17 S-words. Quite a few others. SEX/NUDITY: LOTS of sexual references and some sexual scenes. VIOLENCE: None DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some drinking in a nightclub. Nothing to excess. ACTION: None COMEDY: Quite a bit of comedy. Much of it is sexual.

Review Above Average "...a girls-rule! gross-out comedy pretending to be a
romantic comedy, is a movie in which laughter and self-exploitation merge into
jolly soft-porn empowerment.''
Review Below Average "This is not a good movie. It's deep-sixed by a
compulsion to catalog every bodily fluids gag in "There's Something About
Mary" and devise a parallel clone-gag. It knows the words but not the
music; while the Farrelly brothers got away with murder, "The Sweetest
Thing" commits suicide.''
Review Average "Perhaps it's enough for a movie like this to be sexy and
raunchy. No need for its premise to make sense. In this instance, the sexy part
is debatable. But raunchy it is. Though many of its grossest moments draw groans
rather than guffaws, and a few yawns, Sweetest is occasionally and
Review Good "Diaz makes what might have been a cookie-cutter comedy into
one of the fresher releases this year, a movie with a real anarchic flair."

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
These are very mixed opinions, which makes it hard to say who might enjoy it. What I read from these opinions is:
MALE TEENS - skip it
YOUNG ADULT MALES - recommended since most rated it high.
ADULT MALES - less than a 50/50 chance you'll truly enjoy it, but at least you shouldn't hate it.
FEMALE TEENS - most should really enjoy it but some will likely think it was just an OK movie.
YOUNG ADULT FEMALES - recommended since most rated it high.
ADULT FEMALES - they either loved it or thought it was an OK movie.
Some of the negative comments were that it was too sexual and too cheesy.
Publisher Comments: (before opinions collected) This is a very sexual comedy designed for the twentysomething female. It was an OK movie with some funny scenes, but it was too silly and sexual for my taste, but I'm not this movies target audience. I predict the twentysomething female will love "The Sweetest Thing," and will give it very high marks. My guess is, the opinions we collect from this age and gender group will be primarily in the "Very Good" to "Excellent" range with a good number rating it "Fantastic." There will likely be a few very low opinions from those expecting more of a normal romantic comedy and not so sexual.
