Review Good "This time around, the antics are a tad more frantic, and the
gizmos work overtime... On the other hand, the inventiveness is still superior
and the network of fiends and family is extended.''

Review Good "The kids are back, and they're just as lively and fun in this
installment as they were the first time around. Spy Kids 2 is a worthy
successor to the original, and an enjoyable romp in its own right.''
Review Good "With "Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams," the
Spy Kids franchise establishes itself as a durable part of the movie landscape:
a James Bond series for kids. One imagines "Spy Kids 9," with Alexa
Vega and Daryl Sabara promoted to the roles of the parents, Antonio Banderas and
Carla Gugino as the grandparents, and kids yet unborn in the title roles.''

Review Average "One of the most charming things about the film is that it
delivers its family values message with considerable affection and utter
conviction, even though the older Cortezes are reduced to minor supporting
players — inventive Uncle Izzy's (Danny Trejo) role is little more than a
cameo. But there's way too much CGI gadgetry, some inventive, much simply flashy
in the worst kind of video-game way. The kids are nearly lost in the glitz.''

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
As expected, kids loved it. Most of the seven teens rated it high. I suspect they were probably young teens. The young adult and adult opinions were all pretty equal. Nearly all of them enjoyed "Spy Kids 2," but with many of the opinions being "Good" and lower, it's obviously not a great kids movie for adults like "Shrek" or "Toy Story."
This is still a movie that I can recommend. It's a good family movie. Sure, some of you adults won't think it was great, but it certainly won't put you to sleep and it does have a few entertaining moments for adults.
Cinema Review Prediction: (before moviegoer opinions are collected)
For its target audience, kids, it will be a major hit! I have no doubt every kid will love it. It has lots of action and activity with some great special effects.
Unfortunately, it's not especially entertaining for adults, which isn't bad just unfortunate. It's just nice when a kids movie is also entertaining for adults. This one certainly isn't bad, it's just a little too juvenile for adults and older teens. Still, I would recommend it as good family movie because there are so few decent movies the whole family can go to see.
When the world is in trouble they call in their top secret agents. Carmen (Alexa
Vega) and Juni (Daryl Sabara) Cortez are back for another adventure. Their
newest mission takes them to a mysterious island where they meet a wildly
inventive genetic scientist (Steve Buscemi) and his imaginative creatures, while
fighting the forces of rival SPY kids, Gary (Matt O'Leary) and Gerti (Emily
Osment) Giggles, as they head right into a trap that will test each and every
Cortez spy, from super spies Mom and Dad to their SPY grandparents (Ricardo
Montalban, Holland Taylor). Carmen and Juni go on a mission so big, they'll have
to bring the whole family.
