Notes:
Frank Abagnale worked as a doctor, a lawyer and as a co-pilot for a major airline-all before his 18th birthday. A master of deception, he was also a brilliant forger, whose skill at check fraud had netted him millions of dollars in stolen funds. FBI Agent Hanratty had made it his prime mission to capture Frank and bring him to justice, but Frank is always one step ahead of him, baiting him to continue the chase.
PROFANITY: 2 F-words, 5 GD's. Just a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Some sex sounds heard through a wall. VIOLENCE: Just some gun waving. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None ACTION: None COMEDY: LOTS of big laughs throughout! Funnier than most comedies.

Review Good "The film's charm ends up worn out by the very perfection of
Frank's con. We look at this teen wizard of rotating identity, and we realize we
know everything about him except who he is.''

Review Good "A jaunty caper movie inspired by real-life events, Catch
Me if You Can never takes itself or its subjects too seriously, and contains
more genuinely funny material than about 90% of the so-called
"comedies" found in multiplexes these days. It also helps that in his
two leads, Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks, Spielberg has actors who are capable
of switching effortlessly between drama and comedy. The result is an enjoyable,
although not ambitious, holiday outing.''

Review Good "This is not a major Spielberg film, although it is an
effortlessly watchable one. Spielberg and his writer, Jeff Nathanson, working
from the memoir by the real Frank Abagnale Jr. and Stan Redding, don't force
matters or plumb for deep significance. The story is a good story, directly
told, and such meaning as it has comes from the irony that the only person who
completely appreciates Abagnale's accomplishments is the man trying to arrest
him.''

Review Above Average "But it's tougher to ignore the
movie's bloat, despite the craft and professionalism Spielberg brings to just
about every movie. Catch offers mild fun but never as much as its
animated '60s-retro opening credits portend. They're the cutest of the year.''
