Notes:
Facing her greatest challenges yet, the intrepid tomb raider travels the world. Demonstrating her physical prowess and revealing her courage as never before, Lara proves that she will stop at nothing in her search for an infamous site known as "The Cradle of Life"...especially when it means she could save the world from the most unspeakable evil ever known.
Action Adventure - This latest Tomb Raider probably isn't the exciting action
adventure most are expecting. Much of it is similar to the first
Tomb Raider, but it seems to have more talking and less
action.
PROFANITY: 2 A-words, 1 S-word. Just a couple others. SEX/NUDITY: Once scene of mild sexual activity. No nudity. VIOLENCE: Lots of killings but certainly nothing graphic. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: None ACTION: Quite a bit, but probably not as much as many expect. COMEDY: Only a few mildly funny remarks.

Review Poor "As impressive as Angelina Jolie's many physical feats may be,
it takes even more stamina and fortitude to stay awake during the movie's
seemingly endless two-hour running length. At this point, it's probably moot to
argue about whether Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life is the worst action
movie of the summer. I liked Bad Boys II a little less, but making the
comparison is like distinguishing between a cow turd and a horse turd. And that
pretty much sums it up nicely.''

Review Good "This is a better movie than the first one, more assured, more
entertaining. The director is Jan de Bont ("Speed"), who demands a
certain logic from his screenwriters, so that although the story is completely
preposterous, of course, it is consistent within its own terms. I was relieved
to discover I am not tired of movies like this after all. They have to be good,
is the thingl.''

Review Average "For a movie based on a video game, the story is as
far-fetched and the characters as one-dimensional as one might expect. And even
though the special effects and action sequences are good, the monsters conjured
up are rather humdrum. Cradle's also a bit too long at just under two
hours. A relatively mindless action movie such as this would be better at 90
minutes.''

Review Average "An elaborate wind-up gizmo pretending to be a film, this
sequel to the video-game based LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER is simply a series of set
pieces designed to insure Angelina Jolie's status as action-babe pin-up.''

DETAILED OPINIONS
The positive and negative comments made by moviegoers are very
helpful when selecting a movie that's appropriate for you and your family.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Looks like I wasn't the only one a little disappointed. These opinions are pretty good, but they're certainly not great. About half the audience rated the movie "Very Good" to "Excellent," which indicates they enjoyed it very much. About a quarter of them rated it "Good," which, from our experience, indicates an average or slightly above average movie. The final 25% rated it "Fair," which is getting pretty low.
Overall, I would say, if you're a fan go see The Cradle of Life. If you're not all that big a fan, but tend to enjoy this type of movie, I would still recommend it. I believe your probability of enjoying it, at least to some degree, is quite high.
This one should be seen on the big screen, so at the very least go see it at a matinee or when it comes to the second run theaters.
Cinema Review Prediction: (before moviegoer opinions are collected) I was a little disappointed in this movie. I'm not saying it was bad, because it certainly wasn't. It just wasn't anything special.
Younger moviegoers will likely give it some high opinions, because they tend to be easy to please. Adults will probably rate it above average or maybe a little higher, but I certainly don't expect real high opinions from the majority of moviegoers.
At the very least, I would say it's worth a matinee to be able to see it on the big screen, but mainly for fans. If you're not much of a fan, it's unlikely this movie will convert you.
Pandora's Box, said to house the most unspeakable evil ever known, is hidden on the continent of Africa in an area known as "The Cradle of Life." Now, it is up to world-renowned tomb raider Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) to find the infamous box before it falls into the hands of the maniacal Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. Jonathan Reiss (CiarAn Hinds). Intent on harnessing the evil power, Reiss must be stopped at all costs, and it is only Lara Croft who stands between preserving life as we know it or allowing the malevolent Reiss to achieve his ultimate goal.. .world domination.
