Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Below Average In Paycheck, (the plot holes) are instantly evident, creating the kind of frustration that comes from watching a movie that views its audience as a bunch of witless zombies. This is a bad film, complete with lackluster acting, brainless writing, and uninspired direction. A lump of coal is preferable.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Average Paycheck begins with a thought-provoking idea from Philip K. Dick, exploits it for its action and plot potential, but never really develops it. By the end, the film seems to have lost enthusiasm for itself and should be scored with "Is That All There Is?" There was a basic level at which I enjoyed the movie...

OPINION OVERVIEW
The following is the original "What's Worth Watching" write-up for this movie.

Moviegoer Opinions:

We collected 154 moviegoer opinions. There's virtually no difference in the opinions. Both males and females of all ages enjoyed Paycheck, very much. Certainly more than the movie critics did. With over three-quarters of the opinions coming in "Very Good," or higher and only a few somewhat low opinions, I have no problem highly recommending Paycheck to everyone!

D ETAILED S TORYLINE
Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck) is being hunted, but he doesn't know why. A world-famous genius hired by high-tech corporations for specialized top-secret projects, Jennings routinely has his memory erased once a job is completed so as not to divulge any company secrets. Highly paid for his work, he expect to earn eight figures for his latest three-year project, but upon finishing the work, instead of a big paycheck, he is given an envelop full of random objects and told that he has agreed to forfeit all payment. With his memory erased per his contract, Jennings has no defense, until he discovers that the objects are clues to his past. Now, with the help of Rachel (Uma Thurman), the woman he has worked with and loved for the last three years, Jennings is in a race against time to put the pieces of his past together...before his previous employees have him killed.
