Broken Lizard is back, surrounded by limber, wanton women on a booze-soaked island resort owned by Coconut Pete, a rock star has-been. The non-stop party takes a turn for the weird when dead bodies start turning up faster than you could drink a rum punch. Can the inhabitants of Pleasure Island unite, solve the mystery and restore happy hour to this tropical bacchanal?

Roger EbertFull Review Above Average Do I recommend this movie or not? I am at a loss to say. It is what it is. Criticism is irrelevant. Why are you even reading a review of "Club Dread"? You've seen the TV ads and you already know (a) you won't miss it or (b) not in a million years. There will be better movies playing in the same theater, even if it is a duplex, but on the other hand there is something to be said for goofiness without apology by broken lizards who just wanna have fun.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
We collected 65 moviegoer opinions. This movie is obviously targeted at the teen and twentysomething crowd, mainly males. About three-quarters of the guys really enjoyed it, rating it "Very Good," or higher. There weren't many adult males, but what few there were didn't care much for "Club Dread."
As for the ladies, they actually enjoyed it a bit more than the guys. The teens pretty much all enjoyed it. Only about half of the twentysomething group enjoyed it. About one-third of the adult ladies enjoyed it.
If you're a teen (male or female), then I can recommend "Club Dread." However, as your age increases your probability of truly enjoying this movie decreases.
Broken Lizard is back, surrounded by limber, wanton women on a booze-soaked island resort owned by Coconut Pete (Bill Paxton), a rock star has-been. But the non-stop party takes a turn for the weird when dead bodies start turning up faster than you could drink a rum punch. Everyone begins to look suspicious. Could it be Sam (Erik Stolhanske) of the Fun Police brigade, who is quick on the trigger with his tequila loaded super-soaker; Jenny (Brittany Daniel), the over-sexed, fitness instructor; Juan (Steve Lemme), the flamboyant diving instructor with a secret third-world past; Putman (Jay Chandrasekhar), the bratty-British tennis coach/fanatic; Dave (Paul Soter), the ecstasy-crazed, adopted nephew of Coconut Pete; or the burly masseuse (Kevin Heffernan) blessed with a creepy 'touch' that can render anyone into instant Jell-O? Can the inhabitants of Pleasure Island unite, solve the mystery and restore happy hour to this tropical bacchanal?
