Flor, a beautiful, native Mexican woman becomes the housekeeper for the affluent, yet troubled, Clasky family. The result is a wittily perceptive collision of cultures and values, and a refreshingly honest look at such life-altering commitments as marriage, parenting and devotion to family.
Comedy Drama - A funny and heartwarming drama that's mostly fun and light but
sometimes very dramatic. There is none of Adam Sandler's trademark
crazy comedy. His character is quite normal.
PROFANITY: 1 F-word, 1 S-word, just a few others. SEX/NUDITY: One sex scene played for laughs. No nudity but sexual sounds and motion. VIOLENCE: None DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Sandler is shown drunk. There's also some mild drinking. ACTION: None COMEDY: Quite funny throughout. Lots of chuckles and smiles.

Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good Spanglish is a typical James L. Brooks motion picture - that is to say, it is strong on characters and relationships, but weak on some of the details that would elevate it from merely 'good' to 'great.'
Roger EbertFull Review Good The movie is all about solutions, and the problems are more like test questions. At the end, I felt there hadn't been much at risk, but I got to see some worthy characters stumbling toward improvement.
USA TodayFull Review Very Good Spanglish is a performer's showcase. While the pleasantly sentimental comedy doesn't bowl you over with cinematic technique, it's likely to make audiences happy.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
We collected 237 moviegoer opinions. I enjoyed this movie very much as did most moviegoers. While these opinions aren't quite great, they're very close. With over three-quarters rating it "Very Good" or higher it's certainly a movie I can highly recommend. Especially considering that most of the remaining opinions are "Good" with almost no very low ones. Don't miss "Spanglish."
