Secret Agent Ethan Hunt has retired from active duty – he now trains new IMF agents. With this change, he opens himself up to other new possibilities in his life, including marriage. Hunt tries to balance his two worlds, one as a secret agent and one as a spouse.
Action Adventure - Like the first two films, this is an action- and stunt-filled
adventure. Tom Cruise fans won't be disappointed; however fans of
some of the supporting cast may be disappointed by their limited
roles. But this is the summer action popcorn it appears to be.
PROFANITY: 3 S-words, 2 GD's, a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief sensuality with no nudity. VIOLENCE: Shootings, fights, beatings with minimal blood. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some alcohol and tobacco. ACTION: Shootouts, fights, chases, explosions. COMEDY: Rare wisecracks.

Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Above Average Mission: Impossible III provides lots of action, but too little excitement. It generates lots of pyrotechnics, but too little heat. And it offers lots of Tom Cruise, but too little Ethan Hunt.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average I didn't expect a coherent story from 'Mission: Impossible III,' and so I was sort of surprised that the plot hangs together more than in the other two films.
USA TodayFull Review Good Abrams may have achieved the nearly impossible: taking a predictable, tired franchise and putting his signature style on it so that it feels fresh and cool.
