Notes:
When a young man witnesses a brutal mob murder, it falls to FBI agent Neville Flynn to escort his charge safely from Hawaii to Los Angeles to testify. But in an act of self-preservation, the crime boss facing prison smuggles hundreds of poisonous snakes onto the commercial aircraft in a crate timed to release its deadly cargo halfway over the Pacific. Flynn, along with a frightened flight crew and passengers, must then band together in a desperate attempt to survive.

Action Thriller - This is a campy, cheesy, effects-heavy horror/action/thriller/comedy
for the young adult set. Those looking for serious horror or logic
won't find it here. The title really does says it all. Violence and
sexuality make the film inappropriate for children (the R rating is
deserved).
PROFANITY: 23 F-words, 12 S-words, 6 GD's, a number of others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief sex with nudity. VIOLENCE: Shootings and snake attacks. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Alcohol and marijuana. ACTION: Snake attacks and fights. COMEDY: Wisecracks and silly situations; some sex humor.
Roger EbertFull Review Average There are a few good gross-out moments, a couple of funny lines and some earnest performances from the cast, but without that title and a year's worth of Internet-fueled buzz, this would be just another forgettable, mildly entertaining, mid-August throwaway movie.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average Though Snakes on a Plane is cheesy, campy B-movie fun, thanks mostly to the cadre of cobras and their ilk and also to Jackson (probably the only actor alive who could pull off this save-the-day bad ass movie role) there is also something educational to be gleaned here...

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 111 moviegoers: As I expected from this type of movie, the opinions are very mixed. Teen males loved "Snakes on a Plane." No surprise there. Most twentysomething males also enjoyed it very much, but quite a few rated it only average to below average. Adult male opinions are quite a bit lower but certainly not terrible. Close to half enjoyed it, some very much. Most of the remaining ones rated it as an average movie. For the guys I would recommend "Snakes on a Plane" to the younger guys. The adults should proceed with caution.
As for the females, the opinions are actually better than I had anticipated, considering how most females feel about snakes. The opinions for all age groups generally fall in the above average to below average range with some higher and some lower. Fortunately, only a very small percentage truly disliked it. So ladies, if your fella wants to see this movie, you will likely enjoy it, at least to some degree.
