John Triton, a heroic Marine returns home after being discharged - against his will -- from the Iraq War. Stateside, he finds himself back in action, when his wife is kidnapped by a murderous gang led by the merciless Rome. With everything on the line, the Marine will stop at nothing to carry out his toughest and most important mission.
Action Thriller - This is a truly brainless action film with lots of fights, shooting,
and explosion but very little story or anything else going on. This
is strictly for fans of pro wrestling star John Cena and those who
demand little from their action films.
PROFANITY: 1 F-word, 3 S-words, 2 GD's, a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief clothed sensuality. VIOLENCE: Shootings, beatings, fights with minimal bloodshed. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some alcohol and tobacco. ACTION: Lots of fights, shootouts, chases, and big explosion. COMEDY: Comic banter and wisecracks; some race-related humor.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 36 moviegoers:(There wasn't much interest in this movie.)
TEENS and TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Teen opinions, both male and female, are great. They all loved it. Unfortunately, there aren't enough opinions to be real accurate. As an example, the twentysomething male opinions are very close in age to the teens, but their opinions are very low. The one twentysomething female really enjoyed "The Marine." I would recommend caution if selecting this movie. The detailed opinions have quite a few negative comments such as "stupid," "unrealistic, "hokey." A matinee might be best.
ADULTS:Not very good! Only about half the males enjoyed "The Marine." The remaining half rated it from average to terrible. The adult female opinions are even worse. Some of you will enjoy this movie, but I'm afraid most of you would be disappointed, so I can't really recommend it to adults.
