A young man named Eragon's destiny is revealed with the help of a dragon. Eragon, now a Dragon Rider, is swept into a world of magic and power, discovering that he alone has the power to save, or destroy, an Empire.
Action Fantasy Sci-Fi - This is an effects-laden fantasy/adventure aimed largely at a
kid/teen and family audience. Those drawn in by the names in the
cast (Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Rachel Weisz--the latter only
providing a voice) may be disappointed.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 121 moviegoers:These opinions are decent but this certainly isn't going to be another "Lord of the Rings."
CHILDREN:As expected, CHILDREN LOVED "ERAGON"!
TEENS:Great Opinions! A little over half rated "Eragon" as "Fantastic," with most of the remaining half rating it "Very Good," or higher. Only a small percentage rated it average to below average. Males and females enjoyed it equally.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:A little better than half of the males truly enjoyed "Eragon," rating it "Very Good," or higher. That's pretty good but it's not great considering most of the remaining half rated it "Fair," which is below average.
ADULTS: The male and female opinions are about equal. Around three-quarters enjoyed "Eragon" very much. Most of the remaining quarter rated it "Good," which indicates an average movie. I can easily recommend "Eragon" as A GREAT FAMILY MOVIE!
