Most of the inhabitants head south for the winter but a mysterious group of strangers appear: bloodthirsty vampires, ready to take advantage of the uninterrupted darkness to feed on the town's residents. As the night wears on, Barrow's Sheriff Eben, his estranged wife Stella, and an ever-shrinking group of survivors must do anything they can to last until daylight.
Thriller - It's a vampire movie that gets bloody and gory fast and often but
it doesn't go over the top trying to gross you out. Actually the
story and acting is better than you typically get in this type of

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 81 moviegoers:
TEENS:For a horror movie these are great reviews. Over half rated it "Excellent" or "Fantastic," with almost no real low reviews. Those that didn't love it at least rated it as average, which again isn't bad for this type of movie. Recommended, but not highly since some will likely be disappointed.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:These reviews are fairly typical of the reviews horror movies usually get. About half really enjoyed it, another 25% rated it average and the rest rated it below average to terrible. Since three-quarters enjoyed it, at least to some degree, I can recommend it to strong fans of this type of movie.
ADULTS:The male reviews are slightly higher than the female reviews. Approximately one-third enjoyed "30 Days of Night" very much. Another third rated it "Good," which indicates an average movie and is a decent review. Of the remaining third, most rated it "Fair," with just a small number actually disliking it. These don't appear to be the greatest reviews but for a horror movie these reviews are actually pretty good.
