Charlie is a successful dentist but he can't seem to find the right girl. He finds out at an ex-girlfriend's wedding that every woman he has ever slept with has found true love with the next guy after him. He becomes known as a "good luck charm" for women. Now he must break his good-luck curse before the girl of his dreams winds up with the next guy she meets.
Comedy - CAUTION!!! THIS IS NOT THE STANDARD ROMANTIC COMEDY IT APPEARS TO
BE! It is EXTREMELY SEXUAL and VERY GRAPHIC! Throughout the movie
one of the male characters gets sexually nasty and gross. When it's
not sexual, it's pretty much what you expect it to be, a cute and
funny romantic comedy.
PROFANITY: 15 F-words (many used sexually), 1 GD, 9 S-words, quite a few others. SEX/NUDITY: VERY SEXUALLY GRAPHIC! Nudity, sex motions (big time). VIOLENCE: None DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some drinking and minor drug use implied. ACTION: None COMEDY: Lots of sexually based humor throughout.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Average The movie is coarse and features a romance, but the laughs are sporadic at best and there's no spark between the male and female leads.
Roger EbertFull Review Poor Here is the dirty movie of the year, slimy and scummy, and among its casualties is poor Jessica Alba, who is a cutie and shouldn't have been let out to play with these boys.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 113 moviegoers:
TEENS:Males loved this movie (or they loved the very high sexual content). Females also loved "Good Luck Chuck." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Male reviews are extremely high on the high end but there are a few who only rated it as average or below average. Female reviews are very similar. A very high percentage absolutely loved this movie, but a fair number weren't too impressed. From the comments it appears the somewhat low reviews, from both males and females, were due to the high sexual content.
ADULTS:DRASTIC drop in the reviews compared to the other age groups. Only about 40% of the males and 20% of the females enjoyed this movie. Most reviews came in as average to below average with quite a few even lower. Again, the very strong sexual content is likely the main reason the reviews are so low. If the sexual content doesn't bother you then you may enjoy "Good Luck Chuck." I'd recommend a matinee just to be safe.
It all started when Charlie Logan was ten years old. Breaking the cardinal rules of spin-the-bottle, Charlie refused to lip-lock with a demented Goth girl - and she put a hex on him. Now, twenty-five years later, Charlie (Dane Cook) is a successful dentist…and still cursed. While his plastic surgeon best friend, Stu (Dan Fogler), pursues as many of his patients as possible, Charlie can't seem to find the right girl. Even worse, he discovers at an ex-girlfriend's wedding that every woman he's ever slept with has found true love - with the next guy after him. Before he knows it, Charlie's reputation as a "good luck charm" has women - from sexy strangers to his overweight receptionist - lining up for a quickie. But a life filled with all sex and no love has Charlie lonelier than ever - that is, until he meets Cam (Jessica Alba). An accident-prone penguin specialist, Cam is as hard-to-get as she is beautiful. But when a genuine romance develops, Charlie realizes he's got to find a way to break his good-luck curse…before the girl of his dreams winds up with the next guy she meets.
