Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Drama - Unlike the last romantic comedy that teamed stars Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, this is more of an action-adventure with some violent sequences than a straight-up rom-com. Even so, this is one aimed at female viewers, particularly those who are fans of the often-shirtless McConaughey.

Critic's Review Heading

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Above Average Overall, Fool's Gold is not unwatchable and the action-overloaded final 30 minutes passes quickly and easily. It's getting to that point that can be a chore.

USA Today Full Review
Below Average Fool's Gold strays from the romantic-comedy genre and suffers. By trying to fuse a chick flick with an action-adventure saga, it fails resoundingly at both.

Much to Tess' consternation, Finn maneuvers himself aboard Nigel's yacht and, using his roguish charm, convinces the tycoon and his celebutante daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena), to join him in the pursuit of the Spanish treasure. But they are not the only ones after the prize. Finn's one-time mentor, Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone), and a ruthless local gangster (Kevin Hart) are intent on beating Finn to the prize.
