Notes:
The world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson. With wickedly brilliant tutors--including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan --Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye.
Fantasy Thriller - This is a very violent and bloody action thriller with a dark, dry
sense of humor. Fans of the original comic series may be
disappointed by how loosely the film follows the source material.
The more known stars here, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman, take
distinctly supporting roles to the true lead, James McAvoy.
PROFANITY: Well over 30 F-words, 29 S-words, many others. SEX/NUDITY: Sex with related nudity. VIOLENCE: Many bloody shootings and brutal beatings. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Pills, alcohol, and tobacco. ACTION: Shootouts, chases, explosions, destruction. COMEDY: Dark, dry wisecracks; some sex gags.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good At its worst, Wanted is never boring. At its best, it can be damn close to intoxicating. One word, written without apology, describes it best: fun.
Roger EbertFull Review Good 'Wanted' slams the pedal to the metal and never slows down. Here's an action picture that's exhausting in its relentless violence and its ingenuity in inventing new ways to attack, defend, ambush and annihilate.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average But this kind of inadvertent humor is combined with an intentionally snarky attitude and dark comedy to make Wanted more enjoyable than it ought to be.

Based on a theater exit polling of 181 moviegoers:

TWENTYSOMETHINGS:GREAT REVIEWS! Both males and females LOVED "WANTED." Highly Recommended!
ADULTS:These reviews are very good, but not quite great. Males and females rated it almost exactly the same. About three-quarters loved it and the rest rated it from average to terrible. If you take a little time making sure this is the type of movie you generally enjoy (read all the information we provide online) then I have no problem highly recommending "Wanted."
25-year-old Wes (James McAvoy) was the most disaffected, cube-dwelling drone the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend ignored him routinely and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this disengaged slacker would amount to nothing. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die in his slow, clock-punching rut.
Until he met a woman named Fox (Angelina Jolie).
After his estranged father is murdered, the deadly sexy Fox recruits Wes into the Fraternity, a secret society that trains Wes to avenge his dad's death by unlocking his dormant powers. As she teaches him how to develop lightning-quick reflexes and phenomenal agility, Wes discovers this team lives by an ancient, unbreakable code: carry out the death orders given by fate itself.
With wickedly brilliant tutors--including the Fraternity's enigmatic leader, Sloan (Morgan Freeman)--Wes grows to enjoy all the strength he ever wanted. But, slowly, he begins to realize there is more to his dangerous associates than meets the eye. And as he wavers between newfound heroism and vengeance, Wes will come to learn what no one could ever teach him: he alone controls his destiny.
