People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates—sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It's an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don't exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.
Action Sci-Fi Thriller - This is a science fiction thriller aimed at an adult male audience.
The film may be a bit too intense for young children. Fans of Bruce
Willis should be pleased.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 86 moviegoers:
Males and females of all age groups rated "Surrogates" about the same, good but certainly not great. There are very few reviews of "Excellent" or "Fantastic," which is a bad sign. Most of the reviews are "Very Good," which equals above average, or "Good," which equals average. What's very disappointing is the many reviews of "Fair" and "Poor." All this tells me that "Surrogates" is a movie that many of you will enjoy somewhat, but few will think it was great and quite a few of you will be disappointed.
