Thriller Drama - This is not the action films that the commercials make it out to be
but more of a talky thriller with one very big action sequence in
the
middle. The target audience are adult moviegoers, skewing toward
males. There are moments of bloody violence.
PROFANITY: 8 F-words, 10 S-words, a few others. SEX/NUDITY: None VIOLENCE: Numerous bloody shootings; hits by car. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some tobacco. ACTION: Foot chases and one big shootout. COMEDY: None
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Above Average The International possesses the look and feel of a thriller, but not the heart or soul of one.
Roger EbertFull Review Good A lot of the remainder of the movie involves dialogue and plotters skulking around colorful international locales, including even Istanbul, that traditional setting for intrigue.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average While not as dynamic as the Bourne films — the gold standard for thrillers —The International is comfortably tense and visually stunning.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 116 moviegoers:
TEENS:These are not the greatest reviews. Only about half truly enjoyed. The other half rated it average to below average, which is disappointing.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:There are only a few reviews in this group and they are decent to disappointing. Only about a third enjoyed it. Quite a few females actually hated it. Not recommended.
ADULTS:About half the males and females enjoyed "The International." Unfortunately, there are very few high reviews. This fact, combined with the many reviews of average to below average, indicates to me a movie that many will find to be decent at best. Not recommended except for maybe a lower price matinee or a video rental later.
