Action Drama Sci-Fi - This is an effects-laden disaster movie that's heavy on the
destruction but light on drama. Those looking for action won't be
disappointed, but those who want to see the actors act will be. The
target is young adult males. Note that the film is very long (158
minutes).

Based on a theater exit polling of 250 moviegoers:
TEENS:Two-thirds of the males and half of the females loved "2012." Most of the remaining males rated it average. The remaining females mostly rated it above average with a few average reviews.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:The male reviews aren't very high. Half of them enjoyed "2012" very much, but the remaining half only rated it average or below average. The female reviews are decent. A few loved "2012," but a very large percentage rated it "Very Good," which is above average. Only a few rated it average or lower.
ADULTS:The male and female reviews are almost identical. Approximately three-quarters enjoyed "2012" very much, rating it "Very Good," or higher. Most of the remaining quarter rated it "Good/Average," which is decent. Only a few rated it below average. Overall, the adult reviews are very good, but not quite great.
