Notes:
Ronnie, head of security at the mall, patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist. He dreams of one day swapping his flashlight for a badge and a gun. Then maybe he will win the hears of his dream girl who doesn't give him the time of day.
Comedy (Dark) - Despite the similarity in premise to Paul Blart: Mall Cop and
the advertising campaign, this is a very dark, downbeat, and edgy
comedy, and one definitely not for children. Those sensitive to
explicit nudity, suggestive gags, harsh language, and violent
content
should steer clear.
PROFANITY: Well over 30 F-words, 27 S-words, 2 GD's, a number of others. SEX/NUDITY: Sex scenes with no-nudity; full non-sexual male nudity. VIOLENCE: Brutal fights and beatings; a bloody shooting. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Alcohol, marijuana, heroin, cocaine. ACTION: Chases and fights. COMEDY: Banter and wisecracks, drug humor, suggestive humor, dark humor.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average When Observe and Report is funny, it's often shockingly so. The characters can be nasty or self-absorbed, yet they still have a whiff of sweetness. The bipolar Ronnie sometimes seems in dire need of psychiatric care. Other times he's pathetic. The humor wanes when sad moments overtake the absurd.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 40 moviegoers:
TEENS:Oddly enough, only one of the three males really enjoyed it. The other two rated it only "Good/Average," which is just an OK review. Both of the females loved it.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Great reviews from the males and almost great reviews from the females. Unfortunately, they had a couple who didn't care for it.
ADULTS:Both the males and the females enjoyed "Observe and Report" very much. There were a few males who didn't care for it but most rated it high to very high. Same for the ladies. Most of them enjoyed it but some didn't.
At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. His delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi, the hot make-up counter clerk who won't give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.
