Notes:
Dr. Ryan and Eloise Chandler meet at a hotel seminar and have an instant attraction for each other. They struggle with their past and realize they have to let their past go before they can move forward.
Drama Romantic - Despite the presence of Jennifer Aniston and a light marketing campaign, this is not a fluffy romantic comedy but a more serious drama focused on Aaron Eckhart. Aniston's screen time is limited. Adults are the target audience.

USA TodayFull Review Average As it turns out, Love Happens' sad side and its exploration of the devastating effects of loss is more compelling than its conventional romantic leanings.
NewsdayFull Review Poor Eckhart and Aniston, both natural charmers, are befouled by this contrived, cliched weeper.
Chicago TribuneFull Review Above Average Love happens. Doesn’t it, though? So do other, less pleasant fragrances. This much is clear in the well-acted fraud co-written and directed, woozily, by first-time feature filmmaker Brandon Camp.
Dallas NewsFull Review Average Overall, the film is a harmless time-waster that could have been more. Eloise would have a word for it. Circumbilivagination: walking around in a circle, going no place.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 146 moviegoers:
TEENS: GREAT REVIEWS from all teens, both male and female. Half truly loved it and half rated it above average.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS: Five of the eight males loved "Love Happens." The other three rated it average, which is OK but not great. Close to half of the females gave very high reviews indicating they truly loved it. Also important is that most of the rest rated it "Very Good," which equals above average and indicates a movie they enjoyed very much.
ADULTS: For this type of movie (a love story), the male reviews are quite good. Three-quarters of the males enjoyed it very much. Most of the remaining quarter rated it average. Only a few rated it below average. The female reviews are even better. More of them rated it very high and fewer rated it below average. I can easily recommend this movie.
Dr. Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart) is on the precipice of a major multimedia deal, but the therapist who asks his patients to openly confront their pain is secretly unable to take his own advice.
Eloise Chandler (Jennifer Aniston) has sworn off men and decided to focus on her floral business. However, when she meets Burke at the hotel where he's speaking, there is an instant attraction. But will two people who have met the right person at exactly the wrong time be able to give love another chance?
As each struggles with the hurt of love and loss, they realize that in order to move forward, they need to let go of the past. And if they can, they'll find that, sometimes, love happens when you least expect it.
