Notes:
When David Norris wants to change his future, Harry, the sympathetic Bureau representative is assigned to David’s case. But it is up to Thompson, the head Bureau agent to resolve the Norris problem once and for all.
Thriller Romantic - Contrary to the advertising campaign, this is not an action thriller
but more of a romantic drama with some science fiction and thriller
elements. As such, this will have more female appeal than expected,
and perhaps more appeal to that audience than the typical younger
male
action crowd. Fans of stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt will have
plenty to savor here. Language, sensuality, and violent content
make the film too
intense for young children.
PROFANITY: 2 F-words, 11 S-words, 1 GD, a few others. SEX/NUDITY: Brief sex without nudity. VIOLENCE: Punches, falls, and hits. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Some alcohol. ACTION: Foot chases. COMEDY: Some comic banter.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Good The Adjustment Bureau manages to be visually arresting without calling too much attention to itself. The production finds the right emotional pitch and maintains it.
Roger EbertFull Review Good 'The Adjustment Bureau' is a smart and good movie that could have been a great one if it had a little more daring.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average The Adjustment Bureau is compelling enough, a sort of Inception-lite, but the plot holes take it off course.
