Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Very Good ...Blue Valentine deserves to be seen. The cumulative experience leaves an aftertaste that, although not bitter, is too strong to be easily washed away. That's the mark of a worthwhile motion picture.

Based on a theater exit polling of 63 moviegoers:
TEENS:The four teens loved "Blue Valentine."
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:The females loved it as did two of the three males. There aren't very many reviews but they are very good reviews.
ADULTS:The male reviews are decent but certainly not great. Only about a third loved "Blue Valentine." Most rated it as Very Good, which equals above average and indicates a movie they enjoyed very much but didn't love. Unfortunately, a significant percentage rated it Fair, which is pretty low. The female reviews are close to the same Some loved it, some enjoyed it and quite a few were disappointed.
