Notes:
Throughout history, tales of chivalry have told of handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many of those heroes is a younger brother just trying to stay completely out of harm’s way. Two princes go on a daring mission to rescue the heir apparent’s fiancée before the Kingdom of Mourne falls into chaos.
Adventure Comedy Fantasy - This is a crude fantasy comedy aimed at the young adult audience, in
particular males. Fans of James Franco and especially Natalie
Portman will be disappointed by their fairly limited screen time.
Violence, drug humor, constant strong language, and raunchy gags make
the film inappropriate for children.
PROFANITY: Well over 30 F-words; 22 S-words; 2 GD's; many others. SEX/NUDITY: Creature sex and unrelated creature nudity, VIOLENCE: Fights and duels; bloody slashings and killings. DRUGS/ALCOHOL: Alcohol and marijuana. ACTION: Fights and chases. COMEDY: Banter, wisecracks, crude sex and drug humor.
Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Above Average Unless you're offended by sophomoric sex jokes and the repeated use of profanity, Your Highness is passably entertaining.
Roger EbertFull Review Poor 'Your Highness' is a juvenile excrescence that feels like the work of 11-year-old boys in love with dungeons, dragons, warrior women, pot, boobs and four-letter words.
USA TodayFull Review Average If James Franco seemed dazed and confused hosting the Oscars this year, it might have just been a preview for this crude stoner comedy.

helpful when selecting a movie that's appropriate for you and your family.
OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 33 moviegoers:
TEENS:Two-thirds loved it, most of the rest enjoyed "Your Highness" very much. Only a small percentage rated it as low as average.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Approximately half gave very high reviews rating "Your Highness" mostly "Fantastic.". Another quarter, plus, rated it above average which is also a high review. A few were somewhat disappointed which is totally expected with this type of silly comedy.
ADULTS:Unfortunately, there weren't enough 30+ reviews to be of any help. The one male rated it above average but the four females were somewhat to very disappointed.
Thadeous (Danny McBride) has spent his life in the shadow of his older brother, Fabious
( James Franco), as the crown prince embarked upon epic journeys to inspire the people
of Mourne. But when Fabious' fiancée, Belladonna (Zooey Deshanel), gets kidnapped by the evil wizard Leezar (Justin
Therous) in order to fulfill an ancient
prophecy, their
father gives his deadbeat, hard-drinking son an ultimatum: Man up and help
rescue her or
get cut off.
Begrudgingly (and half-assedly) embarking upon his first quest, Thadeous
joins
Fabious to trek across the perilous outlands in search of his brother's one true
love.
Joined by the mysterious Isabel (Natalie Portman), a warrior princess with a dark agenda of her own, the
princes must
vanquish horrific creatures and traitorous knights before they reach Belladonna
and save
her from a fate worse than death.
As Thadeous reluctantly sets forth on his first quest with Fabious, their
loyal
menservants, Courtney (Rasmus Hardiker), Julie (Toby Jones) and Boremont (Damian
Lewis), join them for the adventure. But as they grow to realize no one can
be
trusted, Fabious and Thadeous must gird their loins for possible betrayal.
If Thadeous can find his inner hero, he earns the respect of his brother and
father
and prevents destruction of their land. Stay a slacker and he will get front row
seats to
the dawn of an all-new Dark Ages.
