Notes:
Long before he even met Shrek, the notorious fighter, lover and outlaw Puss in Boots becomes a hero when he sets off on an adventure with the tough and street smart Kitty Softpaws and the mastermind Humpty Dumpty to save his town. Complicating matters along the way are the notorious outlaws Jack and Jill, who will do anything to see that Puss and his band do not succeed. This is the true story of The Cat, The Myth, The Legend…and, of course, The Boots.
.
Animated Adventure Comedy - This is a family animated adventure spin-off from the Shrek
series. Fans of the title character and stars Antonio Banderas, Salma
Hayek, and Zach Galifianakis will have plenty to enjoy.
USA TodayFull Review Good Puss in Boots is blessedly not a sequel or a prequel. No Shrek stars pop by for cameos. Though he may be a spinoff, this Puss stands alone in his tall boots.
Washington PostFull Review Good The feature-length animated spinoff - a star turn for the popular "Shrek" supporting character voiced by Antonio Banderas - is almost shockingly good.
NY PostFull Review Below Average There was more entertainment in five minutes of Paramount's non-DWA "Rango'' than in the entire running time of this mangy stiff.

OPINION OVERVIEW The following is the original "What's Worth
Watching" write-up for this movie.
Moviegoer Opinions:
Based on a theater exit polling of 115 moviegoers:
CHILDREN:GREAT REVIEWS! The kids LOVED "PUSS IN BOOTS."
TEENS:Great reviews from the teens, both males and females. Everyone rated it very high, which for this type of movie, is rare. It's obviously not just for kids.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Didn't have a lot of reviews in this age group but fortunately, everyone enjoyed "Puss in Boots."
ADULTS:I've seen higher reviews from adults for a kids movie but these reviews are still quite good. About two-thirds of the males and three-quarters of the females enjoyed "Puss in Boots" very much with a fair number loving it. Quite a few of the males did only rate it as "Good/Average," so they were a bit disappointed.
