.
Movie Type (Genre) Heading
Adventure Drama Fantasy - Like the previous three films in the series, this is an adaptation of the horror-romance novel series aimed primarily and females, especially older teens. This film has less action than previous films but more overt sensuality. That and violent content make the film inappropriate for children.

Critic's Review Heading

Berardinelli, Internet Critic Full Review
Above Average Breaking Dawn Part One ends on a perfect note. It's designed as a cliffhanger but, since nearly everyone seeing the movie will have read the book, there's not a lot of suspense.

Roger Ebert Full Review
Above Average Despite these scientific conundrums, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" is absorbing, if somewhat slow-paced, and has without doubt the most blood-curdling scene of live childbirth...

USA Today Full Review
Good It is in many respects the best installment of the franchise as its stars go from sullen kids to sullen young adults, where their expressions look more natural.
