A wily and resourceful boy who quest to unlock a secret left to him by his father will transform Hugo and all those around him, and reveal a safe and loving place he can call home.
Adventure Drama Fantasy - Although the film is based on a children's book and features pre-
lead characters, this over two-hour period film will probably have
most of its appeal to older adults, especially film history fans.
adult stars such as Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen have smaller
supporting roles to the young leads. There is no objectionable
content except for a couple of action sequences that may be intense
for very young kids.
Roger EbertFull Review Excellent "Hugo" is unlike any other film Martin Scorsese has ever made, and yet possibly the closest to his heart: a big-budget, family epic in 3-D, and in some ways, a mirror of his own life.
USA TodayFull Review Very Good Overall, however, the manner in which the film blends the tale of an imperiled boy and the history of cinema makes for an ambitious and fanciful ride.

Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 142 moviegoers:
CHILDREN:Two-thirds of the kids loved "Hugo," with another ten percent enjoying it very much. There were quite a few who only rated it as average. It's probably not a movie very young kids will sit through and enjoy.
TEENS:Seven of the ten males rated it very high with a large percentage loving "Hugo." The other three males rated it as average, which is a bit low. Three of the five females loved "Hugo." The others only rated it as average.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Three of the four males enjoyed "Hugo" very much with two loving it. All but one of the seven females loved it.
ADULTS:Great reviews from both the males and females! Better than half absolutely loved "Hugo." Quite a few more enjoyed it very much. There were a fair number who only rated it average, which is a bit low, but no one disliked it.
