Young Sean is definitely not where he wants to be. It's been years since his father's death, and his mother, Liz, has recently married Hank and relocated the family to suburban Ohio. With no friends around, and a stepfather with whom he's convinced he has nothing in common, Sean spends many solitary hours poring over his maps and Jules Verne novels and dreaming about undiscovered corners of the world that await him.
Action Adventure Fantasy - Like the first film, this is an effects-heavy adventure inspired by a
Jules Verne novel aimed at the whole family. Brendan Fraser fans
will be disappointed that he doesn't return, but co-star Josh
Hutcherson does, joined by known stars such as Dwayne Johnson and
Michael Caine. This film is aimed mostly toward pre-teen children.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average This is transcendently goofy. It isn't a "good" movie in the usual sense (or most senses), but it is jolly and good-natured, and Michael Caine and Dwayne Johnson are among the most likable of actors.
USA TodayFull Review Above Average It's a thoroughly family-friendly film, with a subtle message about the importance of father figures.
Washington PostFull Review Poor The movie's flexibility with its own rules would be less noticeable if it were busy thrilling us.

TEENS:Six of the eight teens enjoyed it very much with most loving "Journey 2." The other two rated it an average movie.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:The one male loved it and the one female rated it average.

About a third loved it with another third rating it above average, which indicates a movie they enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, another third rated it only average, which is a bit low, but certainly not bad, especially considering that's the lowest reviews given.
