A falsely convicted ex-government agent's one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President's daughter from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum-security prison.
Action Thriller Sci-Fi - With Luc Besson in the credits as a writer and producer, this is of
course another action film, this time set in the future with some
science fiction elements. Fans of Guy Pearce will enjoy this change
of pace starring vehicle for him, where he plays not only an action
hero but a constantly wisecracking one. Maggie Grace also has a
substantial role. While the film is rated PG-13 and doesn't have too
much graphic bloodshed, the violence is still too intense for kids, as
is the rough language.

Berardinelli, Internet CriticFull Review Below Average Lockout takes forever to get going, stumbles through the action-centric main chapter, then ends with a brief third act that is chaotic, rushed, and ultimately unsatisfying.
Roger EbertFull Review Above Average I imagine the movie's intended audience will enjoy itself.
USA TodayFull Review Below Average a putrid film that comes dead-weighted with hammy one-liners and a plot so silly it borders on comedy?
