The Bourne Legacy is exactly that, the legacy, the aftermath, of what's come before. Bourne's public exposure at the end of The Bourne Ultimatum sparks a bonfire that threatens to burn down decades of research and development into the building of better spies and warriors. Audiences will discover that there are actually a variety of intelligence programs, that the CIA's Treadstone was but one of the early developments and that Bourne's actions are creating a tremendous anxiety that other programs may be exposed.
Action Thriller - While a sequel to the popular Jason Bourne spy action series, this
film features neither the character nor series star Matt Damon. This
film focuses on a new character played by Jeremy Renner, whose fans
will have plenty to enjoy here. Returning series supporting players
such as Joan Allen and Albert Finney have very miniscule roles this
time, with recognizable faces Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton taking
on new supporting roles. This film is fairly talky before a long
closing action sequence, and the violence may be too intense for

Watching" write-up for this movie.
Based on a theater exit polling of 102 moviegoers:
TEENS:Two males loved "The Bourne Legacy," one enjoyed it very much and one rated it as an average movie. One female loved it and the other three enjoyed it very much, but didn't quite love it.
TWENTYSOMETHINGS:Great reviews from the males and almost great reviews from the females. All but one enjoyed it very much with several loving it.
ADULTS:The male and female reviews are nearly identical. Over a third loved "The Bourne Legacy." Another third rated it above average, which indicates they enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, the remaining third were slightly disappointed since they only rated it as an average movie. Overall these are very good, but not quite great, reviews.
